Mechanical Engineering & Business Student at SMU
As part of an elite undergraduate research initiative at Southern Methodist University, I led a three-person team developing innovative passive sensors on Kapton substrates for wireless data retrieval. My work involved designing intricate spiral sensor geometries, engineering 3D-printed polylactic acid mounts, and applying advanced nanoparticle coatings to optimize methane detection. I utilized a vector network analyzer to capture S11 reflection coefficient data and applied regression models to extract actionable trends, contributing to advancements in space-grade sensing technology.
Performed daily mechanical inspections and real-time troubleshooting of lift systems in harsh alpine environments. Ensured compliance with ANSI B77.1 safety standards and managed emergency protocols to maintain guest safety. This role strengthened my technical problem-solving skills and adaptability under pressure, while reinforcing mechanical engineering principles in a hands-on setting.
Worked closely with ASE-certified Master Technicians to diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems, including electrical diagnostics, engine repairs, and preventative maintenance. Enhanced client relations by explaining technical work to customers and initiated a local outreach campaign that drove a $5,000 increase in shop revenue. This experience sharpened my technical fluency and customer communication in a fast-paced automotive setting.
Maintained and optimized turf quality across elite golf courses through heavy machinery operation and coordinated maintenance routines. Contributed to the upkeep of high-performance landscaping systems while developing discipline, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills as part of an early morning grounds team.
